A Special Agent in the CIB is an investigator authorized to conduct investigations on behalf of the Director of Revenue. An agent will possess a badge and credentials issued by the DOR, identifying them as a Special Agent, authorized to conduct investigations related to matters set forth in the Revised Statutes of Missouri. This includes the authority to investigate, serve subpoenas and summonses, administer oaths or take sworn statements, take testimony, and to require and receive information. Possession of a current Missouri Peace Officer License, in good standing, is highly preferred. Licensed Peace Officers in this position are considered "Peace Officers of the State" and have the power of arrest. A candidate should have several years of experience in law enforcement or a closely related field, and investigative experience is preferred.
